I'm done! I have finally finished by BS in Computer Science. I have, with the help of my beautiful wife, put myself through college.

Ok, well, "done" might be slightly exaggerated. I did walk in the ceremony. My "final" grades aren't finalized yet, but they look good. I do have an non-passing grade in the most annoying GE class ever. Hmm, I may still have to go back for those last few measly units.

Whatever... I'm DONE.

Anyone trying to reach this site (I know there are so many of you), will have noticed that the server has been unreachable. The RAID controller crapped out, and then the restore from backup had to go through a 1000Mb switch that was forcing a 100Mb connection.

This is my first experiment with the Processing language. I was inspired to try Processing by the amazing Magnetosphere video. Music is a sample of Miss You by Trentmoller. This experiment is using simple OpenGL and the ESS library provides audio playback with FFT.

I have a few friends at Google, and one of them internally submitted my resume. This is my last semester at the university, so the timing is perfect. I got a call from a recruiter saying that they would like to setup a phone interview.

Before returning to school I worked as a software engineer. Due to the previous experience the recruiter said he wasn't sure if I should be in the new-grad program or not. In any case, he said he would investigate it and that we should move forward with the phone interview.

I have a fear of drains. Not just any drain, but small ones. I don't have a problem with sewer drains or man-hole covers. I can't stand shower and sink drains.

Normally this isn't an issue for me. I've always had a shower/tub combo, so the drain is always at the edge and away from me. Showers stalls always have the drain in the center... why?... and I'm constantly paranoid about stepping on it. Just writing about this is making me nervous. If I ever build/renovate a house with a shower stall, the damn drain will be in the corner.

I am lucky enough to have a wife that will deal with the drains for me.

This is an excellent article. I wish more companies would think this way.

If you haven't already heard about Photosynth, I recommend you look in to it. I've been following this technology since I first heard about it almost a year ago. Microsoft has since released a demo. There is also a video of a presentation given a TED.

Michael Shermer of Skeptic magazine gave a fabulous presentation at TED on why people believe strange things. It's funny and really hits the nail on the head. I recommend you watch the video.

I've been accepted to Google Summer of Code for the second year in a row. This year I'll be working with OSU OSL on Drupal / Google Apps API integration, along with another student.
